Calamity West

Calamity West is a Chicago-based award-winning playwright. She is currently developing new plays with the Goodman, Steep Theatre Company, Jackalope Theatre Company, and has recently joined TimeLine Theatre Company’s Playwrights Collective where she will be in residency for the next two years. Her full-length plays include: Tony Kushner Considers Writing a Gay Fantasia Based on National Themes (2016); Rolling (2016, Jeff Award nominee for best new work); Give It All Back (Kilroys-cited 2015); Ibsen Is Dead (2014); The Peacock (2013, Kilroys honorable mention); The Gacy Play (2012); and Common Hatred (2012). Calamity is a company member of Jackalope Theatre Company, an artistic associate of Sideshow Theatre Company, and is represented by The Gersh Agency.
